What this number cannot tell you
- A manager reports the value of its holdings on the last day of a quarter, within 45 days after it. A report that a manager amended is shown with the amendments applied.
- Values are as filed, in dollars. A holding that two managers both report is counted in both: a manager that files a combination report includes the holdings of the managers it names, and those managers may file their own. The totals of all managers count such a holding twice.
- Only holdings that Form 13F covers are reported: US exchange-traded stocks and some funds, options and convertible bonds, held by managers with 100 million dollars or more of them. Cash, most bonds and holdings abroad are not in a report.
- A manager can ask the SEC to keep some of its holdings confidential for a time. Those holdings are missing from its report until it discloses them.
- Entries are the lines of the manager's table as it filed them; a position held in more than one way is on more than one line.
- The rank and the value are the total the manager states for its table. A manager's own page says where the lines of its table do not add up to that total.
- Where a name as filed includes the trademarked name of a stock index, the page shows [index name] in its place.
