Text on this page was drafted with AI tools; every figure is computed by code from the cited official source.

We publish numbers that people quote, so we correct errors quickly and in the open.

Our promise

  • Report an error to hello@500metrics.com with the page address and what you think is wrong. A link to the official source helps.
  • We reply within two working days, saying whether we agree and what we will do.
  • We correct confirmed errors within 48 hours of confirming them. If a fix needs longer, for example because a source must be re-fetched, the page is marked as under review in the meantime.
  • Corrections are visible. A corrected page shows the right value with a dated "Corrected" note that links to the log below. We never silently change a published number.
  • Revisions by a source are not our errors, but they are still shown: when a publisher revises its own figure, the page shows the new value and the date it changed.
  • Clarifications (a sentence that could be misread, a missing limit in the "What this number cannot tell you" box) are logged here too.

If an error came from a fault in our code, we fix every page the fault touched, not only the one reported, and the log says how many pages changed.

Correction log

Newest first. Each entry gives the date of the correction, the page, what was wrong, what changed, and how many other pages the same fault touched.

The rules we publish by

These are the rules every page, table and number on 500metrics follows. Any change to them is dated in the history below before it takes effect.

  1. Pages state facts, counts, dates and stated formulas. They never urge a trade, describe a security as cheap or dear, or forecast a price or yield.
  2. Comparisons rank by date, size or change, and every comparison with the past names its window.
  3. Every number is dated and sourced. Projections and scenarios are labelled as such, with their assumptions. Facts are kept apart from interpretation.
  4. No page takes a reader's holdings, goals or circumstances and returns an action. Every reader sees the same page.
  5. We do not answer readers about what they should do with their money.
  6. No payment from any company, bank, dealer, fund or issuer for coverage.
  7. No government seals or emblems, no official-looking styling, and no agency names in our product names.
  8. Explanatory text drafted with AI tools carries a label saying so.
  9. Errors are corrected under the promise above and logged on this page.
