What this number cannot tell you

  • Only companies with a revenue figure for the ranking year that passes our checks are ranked, the largest first; equal figures share a rank.
  • A company's figures are its own. A company that files together with a parent or a subsidiary is ranked on its own figure, so the same business can appear twice, and a sum of revenue counts it twice.
  • Total assets are shown only when the SEC data dates them within ten days of the fiscal year end, and profit only when its period ends within sixty days of it.
  • A dash is a gap: the SEC data holds it for another date or period than the year asks for. The dash says which when it is pointed at.
